The Brand

Tres Noir is a brand built by two brothers who wanted to create something real. They wanted to take their love for classic Americana styling and use today’s best technology to create a collection of eyewear that is unmatched in the marketplace.

The top priority was to make eyewear that is at the highest quality, combine vintage and original styling and sell it at a fair price. The result is Tres Noir Handmade Optics.

The collection would provide a unique but classic sunglass which is not mass-produced. All frames are handmade individually from acetate. Design inspiration is deeply rooted in classic Americana culture and the brand is created under a heavy influence of music and lowbrow art. Running the company out of a garage in Long Beach, CA, Tres Noir introduced its first collection in spring 2006. The reaction and the demand of the product was overwhelming.

In spring 2007, Tres Noir launched its 2nd collection and moved its headquarters out of the garage and into its current office and warehouse in Orange County, CA. Gracing the faces of some of todays top musicians, artists, and scensters, their market has exploded into many avenues of pop culture.

Today the brand is working into its 6th year and growing faster than ever. With 17 styles and over 55 SKU’s, the collection’s uniqueness is matched only by the diversity of its clientele. Tres Noir is currently carried across the United States and internationally in Japan, Australia, and throughout Europe

Product Facts

Optical quality sunglasses.

Tres Noir has taken the same quality you find in an optical glass and adapted it to sunglasses. Eyeglasses are made to be worn everyday and withstand the daily wear and tear while still looking great. Your sunglass quality should be no different. Which is why Tres Noir uses the same materials as most eyewear glasses - handmade acetate, monel, and European CR39 lenses.

All plastic frames are hand made in limited quantities of acetate.

Unlike most sunglasses, Tres Noir doesn't use a mold for any sunglasses. All sunglasses are made by hand from acetate sheets. This allows them to use unique colors and gives the frames a heavier feel.

Metal Frames are made from 100% hypo-allergenic monel.

Monel is high quality metal, that does not rust or chip. It is hypo-allergenic and can be adjusted for the perfect fit.

Lenses are made of shatterproof European CR39 plastic and provide 100% UVA and UVB protection.

All lenses are made in Italy and provide 100% UVA and UVB protection. They are shatterproof and come with scratch resistant coating.

Most frames are Rx-Able.

Many frames in the collection can be taken to an optician and have a customers prescription inserted. Please see sunglass description in the collection section to find out if your frame is Rx-Able.

Warranty Info

Every Tres Noir sunglass comes with a 1 year warranty to protect against manufacturer defects. This does not include lens scratches, dog bites, theft, or every day wear and tear.

For claims, please ship sunglasses via UPS, Fed Ex or another traceable service to Tres Noir Optics 1500 S. Sunkist St. Ste H, Anaheim, CA 92806. Be sure to include 1) Dated proof of purchase 2) Note describing defect 3) Return shipping address and contact info. Claims may take up to 10 business days.
